Create Exquisite Dangly Earrings with SilverSilk Capture Chain

Hey everybody, welcome back to the channel here at SilverSilk and More! I'm excited about today's project. We are going to work on some fabulous dangly earrings that are just so exquisite. I love all the multi-textural elements in them – the sparkles with the crystals, the metal pieces, and the knitted leather chain, which is new-ish to SilverSilk but brought back in different colors. Today, I'm going for a punch of red, which adds a bold statement to these earrings. Let's dive into the materials and get started!

Before we embark on this creative journey, let's ensure we have all the necessary tools and materials at hand.

Tools:

  • Pair of chain nose pliers

  • Round nose pliers

  • Cutters (preferably Lindstrom)

  • Wide nose pliers (dipped in Tool Magic)

  • Tool Magic (for crimping SilverSilk end caps)

Materials:

  • SilverSilk knitted wire jewelry chain (Cardinal color)

  • Triple strand end caps

  • 2-inch head pins

  • Earring wires

  • Jump rings (20 gauge, 6mm inner diameter)

  • 6mm bicone crystals

  • Hammer tone rings (13mm and 18.8mm)

1. Create the Bobble:

  1. Start by stringing a 6mm bicone crystal onto a head pin.

  2. Fold the wire over and create a 90-degree bend.

  3. Trim the excess wire, leaving about half an inch.

  4. Using round nose pliers, create a loop at the end, ensuring it's large enough to accommodate the smallest Hammer tone ring.

  5. Attach the small Hammer tone ring to the loop you just created.

2. Assemble the Central Component:

  1. Take your SilverSilk knitted chain and insert it into the outer two channels of the triple strand end cap.

  2. Insert the wire with the small Hammer tone ring into the middle channel of the end cap.

  3. Hold the wire upside down and crimp it in place, ensuring it catches onto the teeth of the end cap.

  4. String another 6mm bicone crystal onto a head pin and create a loop, leaving at least a 3mm loop size.

  5. Attach the larger Hammer tone ring to this loop.

  6. Attach the loop with the larger Hammer tone ring to the small Hammer tone ring, creating a connection between the central component and the bobble.

3. Complete the Earring:

  1. Open a jump ring and insert the SilverSilk knitted chain into it.

  2. Close the jump ring securely.

  3. Finally, open the loop of an earring wire and attach it to the jump ring to complete your exquisite dangly earring.

Conclusion:

Repeat these steps to make the second earring, and you're all set! These earrings are quick and easy to put together, making them a perfect last-minute gift idea. Feel free to customize them with different bead bobbles or colors of SilverSilk knitted chain to match your style.
