4 • SilverSilk Single-strand End Caps
3 • 6mm Jump rings (18ga)
10 • 5mm Jump rings (~22ga)
10 • Head pins
Clasp
2 • 2x2 Soft Flex crimp tubes
1.5ft • Medium Soft Flex beading wire in copper color or satin silver color
15 • 15x15 Pressed glass coin beads
10 • 5x7mm Top drilled drop beads in chestnut brown
10 • Blue squiggle Czech Beads
10-15 • Size 8 Seed Beads
1 • 14mm Faceted round fire-polish bead
Step 1: Wire-Wrapped Baubles
Begin the creative journey by making 10 wire-wrapped baubles. String a headpin through a blue squiggle Czech glass bead. Then grasp the tip of your chain nose pliers just above the bead. Next, create a 90-degree angle bend over the top of the chain nose pliers. Swap over to your round nose pliers and grasp one tip under the elbow of the 90-degree bend, and one tip right on top of it. Twist the wire toward you, then readjust your round nose pliers to complete the loop until the wire is back in the same 90-degree angle bend as before, but this time with a loop on top. Swap back over to your chain nose pliers and grab the loop and coil the remaining wire around the base of the loop. Trim any excess wire and tuck any wire that sticks out with your chain nose pliers.
Use the thin jump rings to string a drop bead onto it. Then close the jump ring to make sure the bauble is secure and ready for stringing. You’ll need to make 10 of these components.
Step 2: Form the Base
Cut about a foot and a half of Soft Flex beading wire. String two sets of the following beads in pattern (A) of a size 8 seed bead and a pressed Czech glass bead. Then string five sets of the following beads in pattern (B) a size 8 seed bead and a pressed Czech glass bead. Then string three sets of pattern (A) again. Now, you may consider a large fire-polish bead for a captivating focal point before finishing your stringing with three sets of pattern (B) again. Set this beaded strand aside for now as you move onto cutting and crimping SilverSilk chain.
Step 3: Crimping SilverSilk
Take your SilverSilk strand and slide it through a Single-strand End Cap. If the end cap feels a bit snug, use your chain nose pliers to gently open it for an easier fit. Once inserted, make sure the SilverSilk is snug against the end cap. Grasp your wide nose pliers and firmly press the end cap to close it, creating a secure connection. You want to ensure that the seam of the end cap is shut entirely on both sides, providing a sturdy anchor for your SilverSilk.
With one end cap securely in place, determine your desired necklace rope length. Cut the excess SilverSilk, leaving an extra bead or two of the ball chain core for crimping.
Now, let's move on to crimping. Open a crimp bead slightly and position it over the SilverSilk. Use your wide nose pliers to press the end cap shut over the chain and you are good to go! Make a second SilverSilk rope that is crimped on both ends.
Step 4: Necklace Assembly
Use the crimp tubes to crimp the beading wire onto the SilverSilk end caps. But before you secure the final crimp, make sure that the necklace is flexible and not pulled too tight. The beads should curve easily on the beading wire. Once eveything feels light, crimp the last crimp tube and attach a clasp of your choice to finish!
Conclusion:
And there you have it—a masterpiece of asymmetry that not only captures the essence of fall but also makes a bold fashion statement.
