Jewelry making has a broad range of techniques to choose from. This makes it exciting and challenging at the same time. For this tutorial, I wanted to assemble a fabulous design using natural brass Vintaj components from the latest SilverSilk & More mystery kit, Amazon Rainforest.

Nothing brings me more joy than to open a fresh new beading kit. For this month, I put together a theme called Amazon Rainforest. Nature has always been inspiring to me, so selecting SilverSilk jewelry chains, as well as jewelry charms in the shapes of snakes, leopards and butterflies was so delightful. The SilverSilk jewelry chain colors also represented different parts of the rainforest. Dirt, rock and earth are represented by an exclusive color called Solid Antique Brass Capture Chain. Flora, plant life and foliage is represented by the lush Golden Lime Capture Chain, which is also exclusive to this beading kit. Wetlands, rain and water is represented by River Capture Chain, which you can find HERE. Each of these elements make up the vast and majestic landscape of the amazon rainforest.

I included a selection of Vintaj natural brass jewelry making components. Just check out this sweet pendant that we will use patina paints to color.

Using the Vintaj patina paints, Moss, Marine and Victoran Gold, I painted the pendant. I also painted some fringe components, but just the bottom of each fringe to give the pendant some visual weight. This transformed the components into faux oxidized metals and a work of art.

Next, I used a 1.5mm metal punch to make holes in my pendant to hang the fringe from. Start by punching the bottom center of the pendant, then space the next punch about 4mm to the left and right of the center hole.

For a pop of color, and you know I love a good pop of color, I used medium Soft Flex beading wire in green turquoise (found HERE) to connect my Vintaj components together with beads. Simply cut a 2-4in length of beading wire and use 2mm Soft Flex crimp tubes to crimp (found HERE).

I used magical crimpers to make my crimp look like a bead and hold my wire secure. You can grab a pair of these handy crimpers HERE at the Soft Flex Company website.

Time to embellish some more! I used Soft Flex 26-gauge craft wire in Vintage Bronze (found HERE) to wire-wrap a fancy electroplated 10mm lava bead into the center of my pendant. And yet, another fabulous pop of color!

Time to put it all together! I dabbed some more Vintaj patina paints onto my SilverSilk Double-strand End Caps to match the oxidized paints from earlier on my Vintaj components and then crimped it onto the SilverSilk Golden Lime Capture Chain.

And finally, I used the same crimping technique to connect my pendant to my necklace rope to complete the look!

I absolutely love this design so much and it was so easy to make. I hope you will give it a try. The video link is below if you want the more detailed version or just turn on the audio for some giggles during this design journey I took.
