How to Make Gemstone Daisy Jewelry on 3-Needle Chain
The daisy chain trend is an enduring one. Playful florals are popping up everywhere this Spring and Summer season. This design levels up the sophistication of this lighthearted style, giving it a fine jewelry vibe. This set features SilverSilk 3-Needle Chain as the suspension medium for a pair of dainty earrings and a necklace. There are variations possible to really make this your own. Follow along each step, in video form as well as written steps below, to recreate your own beautiful set.
Before we dive into the magic, let's gather our tools and materials:
Tools:
Cutters (Lindström Tools): Essential for cutting knitted wire through the ball chain core.
Chain Nose Pliers (Wubbers Tools): Ideal for handling chains and closing the slide crimp with ease.
Round Nose Pliers or Bail Forming Pliers: Perfect for making simple and wrapped loops.
Loctite Glue: Used for securing the 3-Needle Chain into the SilverSilk 2mm Cord Caps.
Materials:

Tip: Select beads with an approximate 5:3 size ratio. The beads featured are 5.5mm (large) to 3.3mm (small).

Gemstone Daisy Written Step-By-Step Guide: Earrings
Step 1: Creating the Center Connector
Cut 1.5" of 22-gauge craft wire. Using your round nose pliers, form a simple loop on one end. Then, string one larger gemstone bead before forming another simple loop to finish the bead connector.
Step 2: Adding the Petals
Cut a 4.5" to 5" length of 24-gauge craft wire. Leave a 1" tail and string on one side of your Step 1 connector, followed by four smaller gemstone beads. Gemstone beads usually have smaller holes compared to regular beads because larger holes would make the gemstone more fragile. Additionally, the cutter aims to minimize the amount of gemstone drilled away to maintain its value. Using a smaller diameter craft wire, such as 24-gauge, allows it to easily pass through most gemstone beads while still providing a strong and flexible hold.
Step 3: Completing the First Side
Bend the 1" side of the wire up slightly and hold it with your finger or a plier. Bring the long end of the wire through the other simple loop around your larger gemstone bead.
Step 4: Completing the Second Side
String on four more of your smaller gemstone beads. Then string the wire through the top loop of your Step 1 connector to form a circle of smaller gemstone beads around the larger gemstone bead.
Step 5: Bring the Wire ends Together
Bend both wires straight up so that they are parallel to one another.
Step 6: Making a Wrapped Loop
Working with both wires together, use a pair of round nose pliers to create a wrapped loop, coiling both wires around the stem of the loop a couple times. Then, trim any extra wire off. Grab your chain nose pliers to tuck in any wire that is poking out so that it won’t catch on your hair.
Step 7: Complete Your Earring
Open a 6mm jump ring and connect it to the wrapped loop. Next, cut a 3.5in-length of 3-Needle Chain and feed it through the jump ring. Bring the ends evenly together and insert them into a SilverSilk 2mm Cord Cap. Secure and adjust the fit first, then slightly slide the chains back out, but not completely. Apply a small amount of Loctite to the chains just below the cap, then slide them up into the cord cap again. Allow 15 minutes or so for the glue to completely dry before wearing your new gorgeous earrings.

Step 1: Creating the Center Connector
Cut 1.5" of 22-gauge craft wire. Using your round nose pliers, form a simple loop on one end. Then, string one larger gemstone bead before forming another simple loop to finish the bead connector.
Step 2: Creating the Horseshoe Flower
Cut 4.5" to 5" of 24-gauge wire. String four smaller gemstone beads and gather them to sit in the center of your craft wire. Holding the beads, give the wire a bend into a horseshoe shape. Gemstone beads can be fragile, so be careful when you are bending your wire and let the gemstone beads curve with the wire and sit where it wants to.

String the Connector, made in Step 1, on both wire stems to sit above the smaller gemstone beads.
Step 4: Adding Small Beads
Add one smaller gemstone bead to each of the wires. This will help keep the simple loops stable and make it easier to keep the component you are making balanced both visually and structurally.
Step 5: Forming Wrapped Loops
Using a pair of round nose pliers, form wrapped loops over each of the beads. It’s important to note that both wire-wrapped loops need to face the same direction in order to make it work as a bail for the SilverSilk chain. You can use chain nose pliers to adjust and align the simple loops before the next step.
Step 6: Finish the 3-Needle Ends
Slide an 18" length (or desired length) of 3-Needle Chain through the wrapped loops and drop it to the center of the chain. Insert each end of the 3-Needle Chain into a SilverSilk 2mm Cord Cap. Adjust the fit, then apply Loctite glue and insert into the cap. Allow 15 minutes or so for the glue to completely dry before attaching the clasp.
Open the 6mm jump rings and attach one side with a lobster clasp, the other with just the jump ring. Enjoy your necklace!
Step 7: Exploring Variations
