The Cloverleaf Pendant Necklace Video Tutorial

The Cloverleaf Pendant Necklace, Written Step-By-Step Guide

Step 1: Preparing Materials and Beginning the Pendant

Begin by cutting two 14-inch lengths of medium beading wire. (Using two different colors can be fun but is not required.) If you are working with one color of beading wire, use a permanent marker to color the ends of one of the wires to help identify them. The beauty of weaving with beading wire is you don’t need a beading needle and stitches work up very quickly! Hold both strands of beading wire together and string three 8mm fire-polished beads onto the center of the wires.

Step 2: Beginning the Cloverleaf Pattern

String one 8mm fire-polished on one end of the Color A strand. Pass the other end of the beading wire through the bead in the opposite direction. Pull the Color A strands away from each other to tighten the stitch. The new bead will sit snug above the first three strung in Step 1, forming a square shape.

Step 3: Adding Accent Beads

String a 4mm fire-polished bead onto the Color B strands. Tighten the beading wires so the beads are snug and close together.

Step 4: Continuing the Design

String one 8mm fire-polished bead onto both colors of beading wire. Adjust and keep it tight.

Step 5: Creating the Side Petals

Working on the Color A wire, on each side, string three 8mm fire-polished beads. Continue through the 8mm bead added in Step 4, forming a square with those beads on each side. Adjust and tighten the beading wire and beads as necessary to maintain the shape.

Step 6: Adding Accent Beads

String a 4mm fire-polished bead onto each end of the Color B beading wire.

Step 7: Closing the Center Petal

Next, pass the ends of the Color A wire through opposite sides of one 8mm fire-polished bead. Pull to tighten, closing up the center of the pendant.

Tip: Keep the Color B wires in front of the Color A wires at this step to help keep the accent beads from tucking behind the Color A wires.

Step 8: Beginning the Top Petal

String one 8mm fire-polished bead onto both strands of beading wire.

Step 9: Finishing the Top Petal

At this step, your Color A wire might be getting short, so for this step we used Color B to close the top of the petal by passing each side of the wire through opposite sides of an 8mm fire-polished bead. It is okay to use Color A at this step as well. Just make sure whichever wire you choose is the same on each side. After you’ve added the fire-polished bead and tightened it to the top of the design, string a crimp tube onto both wires on each side.

Step 10: Finishing the Design

Pass the Color B wire back through the crimp tube on each side. This will make a loop with the Color B wire. Make sure this loop is big enough to fit over your SilverSilk Capture Chain. Tighten and adjust it, then crimp the tube on each side. Trim the ends of beading wire close to the crimp tubes. String your pendant onto SilverSilk Capture Chain. Finish the ends of the Capture Chain with SilverSilk Single-Strand End Caps and Findings. Your eye-catching Cloverleaf Pendant is ready to rock!

Conclusion:

We hope you have enjoyed trying out this new and unique way of weaving a pendant design combining SilverSilk, Soft Flex, and beads! Many variations are possible. Try other beads with similar ratios, such as 6mm beads with 3mm accents to make a smaller pendant or statement earrings.
