Flat Mesh Gemstone Bracelet Video Tutorial
Flat Mesh Gemstone Bracelet, Written Step-By-Step Guide
Step 1: Stringing a Gemstone Design and Selecting a Complimenting Flat Mesh
Working from the spool, use medium diameter beading wire to string a creative design using gemstones, spaced with 15/0 seed beads. Select a complimenting color of beautiful SilverSilk Flat Mesh to accent and bring out the colors of your gemstones.
Step 2: Securing One End of the Design to your SilverSilk Flat Mesh
Still working from the spool, feed the end of your beading wire through the end of your Flat Mesh. String on a 2mm crimp tube and flatten the crimp using your chain nose pliers, close to the end. Trim the end of your beading wire close to the crimp end.
Step 3: Preparing the Edge to Add the SilverSilk Flat Mesh Crimp End
Align crimped end of the beading wire flush with the Flat Mesh edge. Go ahead and trim and weed the end of the Flat Mesh as necessary to get a clean edge. Any remaining wire pieces will only get in the way when you use the Flat Mesh crimps.
Step 4: Attaching the SilverSilk Flat Mesh Crimp End
Pick up your Flat Mesh Crimp and insert the end of the Flat Mesh with the crimped end of beading wire into the channel, making sure that it’s stacked on top of the Flat Mesh while sitting inside the Flat Mesh Crimp, logo side up. The inside of the crimp end is open at the center along the top jaw, which makes it the perfect spot to settle the beading wire. Use a pair of wide nose pliers that have been prepared with Tool Magic to gently close the Flat Mesh Crimp.
Step 5: Aligning the Bracelet Design to Finish the Other Side
Lay out the bracelet in a flow shape as it would be worn. Identify the position on the Flat Mesh where the other end of beading wire would best align and join by threading that end of the beading wire directly through the Flat Mesh knits to exit the other side.
Step 6: Securing the other Side with a Crimp Tube
Cut the beading wire free from the spool and string on a crimp tube. Make a flattened crimp, then trim the extra beading wire off.
Step 7: Trimming the Flat Mesh and Preparing to Attach the Second SilverSIlk Crimp End
Trim the end of the Flat Mesh to align with the end of the beading wire. Weed any stray ends of knit from the end of the Flat Mesh.
Step 8: Completing the Second Crimp End and Finishing Touches
Inset the second side into another Flat Mesh Crimp End. Arrange so the gemstone strand is set on the same side of the Flat Mesh as on the starting side. Use your wide nose pliers again to press the Flat Mesh Crimp End closed.
Open and attach 6mm jump rings using chain nose pliers. Attach a lobster clasp to one end of the bracelet. On the other end, use jump rings to create a short chain. If desired, add a decorative charm using one of the gemstone beads.
Conclusion:
SilverSilk Flat Mesh and complimenting findings are a truly beautiful addition to high-end gemstone jewelry pieces. The selection of color can pull out the glow and depth of the gems as they lay across the mesh. Flat Mesh’s intricate knit and color makes the design pop when worn and photographed.
